Ask the man in the street and on upright pianos, it will probably tell you that it is the poor relation of the concert grand, and that most pianists prefer to buy a large (or perhaps a large baby), if they have money. But is this lower-class reputation that is attached to upright pianos - especially those - well deserved?
There are a lot of positive results for the purchase of a piano instead. Obviously, there is the cost, where the "poor relation" of course wins - and used upright pianos are obviously still cheaper than the brand new ones. He also wins in terms of practice - because it can sit flat against a wall, it can fit in many rooms in a house, requiring less space than a sofa. If you keep them clean and polished, if a user can add a touch of class to a house and are very interesting elements of furniture - and even less musical instruments.
The sound of a piano is perhaps his most important. In a vertical position, the sound is emitted from the rear, if it is against a wall, you usually open the lid of the piano to allow to escape the music and be in the room. It is, in fact, why piano lids are open - but in a domestic setting, the sound of the vertical can sound as well as a baby-grand, so surprising. Admittedly, the sound is perfectly adequate for most cases, and while the keyboard may not match that of a large, most people play at home not need this level of flexibility.
What's more, it is the ideal instrument to learn. What it comes down to is this: a piano right to meet your requirements? The response of most people is yes: it is a fantastic compromise between cost and quality of a great and inexpensiveness but (some would say) the characterless quality (lack of harmony and tone), a keyboard mail.
A piano is a traditional musical instrument which, with a little care and attention, not only provide you with years of musical pleasure, but also a beautiful piece of furniture that is a real investment for the future.
