Digital Pianos - Are They Right for You? By Edward Weiss

Many families are now purchasing digital pianos to learn. And why not? They are relatively inexpensive, take up very little space, and high-quality grand piano sound. But there are some drawbacks to owning one.

For example, it is a good idea to play an acoustic instrument before attempting a digital. Why? Because no matter how well the piano sound is sampled, which never match the pure acoustic sound and the richness of a "live" piano. This factor is very important to some because they want to experience that only a truly organic sound sensitivity can give you.

When a key is beaten in an acoustic instrument produces harmonics that resonate around the room creating a sound that no digital instrument can capture with precision. I do not know why but I've played is the best digital pianos and have never experienced "woody" feel is a acoustic.

If this does not concern you, then you have passed the test of fire due to a digital piano, because although they can not give you the exact feeling of a sound, they come pretty damn close to him the deep, rich, full sound a grand piano! For most people, this is all that matters and for my part, I agree!

Today's' digital pianos are so good that most listeners can not tell the difference between a "live" and a digital piano. Add to that the fact that they are the most affordable types of pianos you can buy and having an instrument that is hard to beat.

It really all depends on what your needs are. Need an experienced cacophony of shades? If so, do not go digital, but if you want the full grand piano sound without having to pay $ 50,000 for it, digital is the way forward!
